Accessibility

The Main Gardens

Leonardslee has been created in a spectacular sheltered valley with over 9 miles of paths going up and down the valley slopes as they wind through the gardens. Some of the paths have steps so they can be awkward to navigate and many paths are not suitable for wheelchair access. We suggest that less able-bodied visitors enjoy the gardens from the easily-reached upper paths and from where good views of the gardens can still be enjoyed, especially in the first half of May when the colours are best in these areas.

Exhibitions

The "Beyond the Dolls House" exhibition, the Victorian cars, the Alpine house, the Clock Tower Restaurant and the Gift Shop are all wheelchair-accessible, although there is a slope down from the car park to these areas. The temperate green house and toilets (including disabled toilet) are situated adjacent to the car park. Both are easily accessible.

Dogs

With the exception of registered guide dogs, we are unable to allow any dogs into the gardens. This is mostly due to the abundance of wildlife (including wallabies, swans, duck, geese and deer) that live at Leonardslee. If you do need to bring your dog with you, you may walk them on a lead in our car park, which is grass covered. The car park also offers some shaded areas to park your car if you need to leave your dog inside but please make sure that your dog has adequate water and air.
